OVERVIEW

After graduating from UCLA in Psychology, I gained professional training in both Counseling Psychology (M.A. degree) and Organizational / Workplace Psychology (M.S. degree).  I was trained to be a therapist at John F. Kennedy University, a place people in the counseling field regard as having an awesome training program.  Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in human resources, and executive recruiting in the corporate world.  Because of my diverse training and background, I tend to see each person as a part of a whole, whether you are A PART OF a whole family, a group, or an organization.  We are each a part of an ever-changing dynamic that surrounds us.  This is called the Systemic View.  All of the different factors and people you deal with have an influencing effect on your well-being and behavior.  I bring this orientation to my work as a counselor and coach.

EXPERIENCE

I have been providing psychotherapy and coaching for over 7 years.  I am licensed in the State of California (#45050).

STYLE

My style of doing therapy is compassionate and warm yet direct.  I am energetic, flexible, and creative.  This also means I’m interactive in conversing with you.  Yet, I know when to stay quiet so you can have space to express yourself!  I believe that you have great inner wisdom, and a desire to move towards living a more fulfilling life.

I give you a lot of information to empower you from the very first session.  Because of this, some of you only need to see me for a brief period of time to reach the results you are looking to achieve.  You may then come back from time to time to get coaching on other issues that come up in your life.  On the other hand, some of you may want to have deep insight into your problematic repetitive thought and behavioral patterns that are rooted in your experiences with your family-of-origin, and so I would then apply some traditional psychoanalytic theories and methods in working with you.
